Interview, Michael Cade, Microsoft, Azure, South Africa

Michael Cade, Technical Evangelist EMEA at Veeam Software.

On the 15th of August 2017 in Johannesburg, South Africa Veeam Software hosted their annual VeeamOn Forum. At the event, IT News Africa interviewed with Michael Cade the Technical Evangelist for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets at Veeam. In this interview, Cade - a British national visiting South Africa - looks to unpack how the launch of Microsoft Azure will affect South African businesses.

Microsoft Azure is a collection of integrated cloud services that developers, IT professionals and businesses use to build, deploy, and manage applications through Microsoft's global network of datacenters. Microsoft, in May 2017, announced that they would build two datacenters in South Africa, which would allow them to offer South African businesses Azure’s suite of cloud computing tools for developers as well as productivity tools like Office 365 and Dynamics 365.

Michael Cade is an IT Professional with over 10 years of industry experience with a key focus on Data Center technologies. In the interview, Cade also speak about how South African businesses could leverage Azure, how it will aid in the growth of SME's, the negatives of failing to adopt public cloud offerings and how it will be integrated into Veeam's offerings.
