Xbox unveils historic E3 lineup
On Sunday at the ongoing Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled their much anticipated next generation console, the Xbox One X. Previously code-named "Project Scorpio", the console unveiling was broadcasted for the first time live from E3 in 4K UHD on Mixer, Microsoft also revealed a record number of new games, 42 to be exact, with 22 of those being Xbox exclusives. The console will begin roll out on November 7 2017.
Microsoft have placed emphasis on the console being the perfect platform for game developers, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that,“Xbox empowers game developers large and small to create different types of games for every type of player. Not only do we have the biggest cross-platform blockbusters on our platform, we’ve also scoured the world to bring our fans unique content from creative artists that capture the imagination.”
With the ability to play your old games already featured in the Xbox One, the Xbox One X has followed suit, meaning that your library of games can continue to grow as a move to the new console won't mean losing any of your previous games. This giving gamer's around the world the opportunity to enjoy the best games of the past, present and future.
Spencer announced that Xbox will expand the Xbox One backward compatibility library of nearly 400 popular Xbox 360 games to include original Xbox classics, starting with fan favorite “Crimson Skies.” Xbox also revealed that “Gears of War 4,” “Forza Horizon 3,” “Minecraft,” “Resident Evil 7,” “Final Fantasy 15,” “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” “Rocket League” and dozens of other popular Xbox One games will receive free updates to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. A host of these titles will be enhanced to run in true 4K, and many will be available at Xbox One X launch.

Microsoft have claimed that the Xbox One X was created to deliver uncompromised power, ultimate compatibility and design excellence and that It’s both the most powerful and smallest console Xbox has ever built.
Xbox One X reportedly has 40 percent more power than any other console, which offers an immersive true 4K gaming experience when paired with a 4K display, such as Samsung’s flagship QLED TV. Xbox One X makes your existing library even better, with better textures, smoother framerates and faster load times, even on a 1080p TV. Xbox One X also offers the ultimate 4K entertainment package with 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray X and streamed content, HDR support for gaming and video, and Dolby Atmos support.
Xbox One X will join the Xbox One family of devices and coexist alongside Xbox One and Xbox One S, and all Xbox One games and accessories are compatible.
