On 18 July 2019 Rockstar Games, publisher of the incredibly popular and record-breaking video game Grand Theft Auto V, announced a new update to the game’s incredibly successful online component, Grand Theft Auto Online. A trailer highlighting the new content and activities was uploaded to the company’s official YouTube page.
The update will see the addition of a new casino and resort. “The massive construction project on the corner of Vinewood Park Drive and Mirror Park Boulevard is nearing completion, radically changing the skyline of Los Santos forever. When the brand-new Diamond Casino & Resort opens its doors, one and all are welcome inside to play, or just to stay in the most luxurious residence in the entire state,” Rockstar said in a statement. Players will be able to interact with the casino much like in real life, according to Rockstar. “More than just a place to let go of your inhibitions and your sense of the passage of time, The Diamond is the one-stop destination for quality entertainment, high-end living and a range of experiences you won’t find anywhere else,” Rockstar added.
Players will be able to play a variety of games at the casino. Some of these games include Blackjack, Roulette and Three Card Poker. In addition to these games, Slot Machines that provide a variety of prizes will also be made available. Players can also watch virtual horse racing with the Inside Track mode. Players will also have a chance to win chips, cash, clothes and the new Truffade Thrax supercar during the opening week of the casino, as well as a new in-game vehicle every week.

In addition to the casino, the update will also include the Master Penthouse that sits on top of The Diamond Casino. “The Master Penthouse that sits beside the Roof Terrace with infinity pool and stunning views entitles the owner to VIP Membership status including access to VIP Lounges, High-Limit tables, plus a range of special services via the Penthouse phone including aircraft and limousine services and more,” claims Rockstar. Players will be able to upgrade their penthouse with different floorplans, such as a spa and a Bar & Party area.
The update will come with a unique storyline which will see players becoming part of The Diamond Family. According to Rockstar, players will “help property owner Tao Cheng and The Diamond staff protect their investment from the clutches of a corrupt family of Texan petrochemical magnates in a series of all-new co-operative missions.” These missions will come with different rewards. Twitch Prime owners will receive exclusive rewards when the new update launches.
The Diamond Casino & Resort update releases on 23 July for all owners of GTA V.
