Telltale’s The Walking Dead continues

The final season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will be completed by members of the original development team thanks to developer Skybound Games.

Skybound said that they brought back “many of the talented, passionate team members who originally worked on the game” to help finish the final season and that according to a blog post by Skybound, work on the series started back up yesterday on the 19th of November, 2018.

The rights to The Walking Dead series were picked up by Skybound Games, the gaming division of Skybound Media, founded by Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead after Telltale laid off most of its employees at the end of September. The news was announced on Skybound’s official Twitter account after a deal was made to take over the completion of the series from Telltale.

Episodes 3 and 4 were delayed as a result of the layoffs, but Skybound hopes to announce release dates soon. Previous episodes will also be available on online stores again soon, having been removed due to Telltale halting sales in September and dealing with bankruptcy proceedings.

Anyone who has already purchased the final season will be able to play episodes 3 and 4 once they release and won’t have to purchase anything again.
