With almost half of the world population currently online and 75% expected to be so by 2030, 87% of travellers globally using mobile devices when travelling, the Travel Corporation (TTC) has launched a digital initiative that aims to enhance customer experience from booking to post-trip. The My Travel Portal (MTP) encompasses all touchpoints to deliver a personalised online solution trip.
MTP is currently available to those booking a Trafalgar, Contiki, Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold or CostSaver holiday, with U by Uniworld and Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection coming online shortly thereafter, and further brands from the portfolio being added through 2018.
MTP facilitates a point of contact for TTC guests: from a chat facility to connect with their Travel Director and fellow travellers, through to a travel journal and ways to socially share plans and photos. In registering personal details within MTP, travellers will benefit by saving precious holiday time at border crossings and hotel check-ins, as well as having personal preferences for dietary and any particular passion points already accounted for pre-arrival.
Theresa Szejwallo, TTC Managing Director for South Africa said, "In a world where connectivity is the new normal, we are very aware of the need to create an end to end travel solution from booking to post-trip, that would serve our guests well at every touchpoint. Providing that access to immediacy of information is imperative, but we also wanted to stay true to our ethos of providing personalisation in travel. In creating My Travel Portal, we believe that we have devised a good blend of both and are excited to kick off 2018 by delivering this to guests travelling with Trafalgar, Contiki, Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold and CostSaver, with more brands to follow soon”.
An e-documentation area has also been created. Additionally, TTC has partnered with a non-profit organisation focused on global reforestation, One Tree Planted, pledging to plant a tree for every guest who opts out of printed travel documents. The travel brand has already committed to the reforestation of several hundred acres of barren and devastated land. Environmentalist and TreadRight Ambassador Celine Cousteau is also supporting the move, having created a thank you video for guests selecting the tree-saving option.
