Uganda: Joint Medical Store migrates to IFS Applications 9.

Joint Medical Store (JMS), a non-government pharmaceutical store in Uganda, has announced an upgrade to IFS Applications 9, which will according to the company, increase flexibility and enhance end-user productivity. JMS is licensed by the National Drug Authority to engage in import, export and wholesale of medicines and healthcare solutions.

The new, multi-layered architecture in IFS Applications 9 aims to make it more cost-effective for JMS to upgrade the applications suite as IFS releases new versions. New features such as IFS Lobby will further streamline and enhance end-user productivity.

The IFS Lobby centralises data from multiple processes, queries and data sources in a single view, helping operational users to see the information they need at a glance. With IFS Applications mobile features, users can work wherever they are. According to the company, IFS Applications 9 delivers enhanced warehousing and supply chain processes.

“Since we introduced IFS Applications 8 in 2013, the solution has helped us to increase efficiencies in financial management and supply chain management,” said Dr Bildard Baguma, Executive Director at JMS. “With the new version of IFS Applications 9, we will truly be in a position to serve our customers more proactively by using the superior business analytic features that will facilitate accurate forecasting of our customers’ needs at a glance.”

Gawie van der Merwe, Managing Director of IFS South Africa added, “IFS Applications 9 is built to deliver agility by bringing users closer to their businesses, increase their flexibility, and maximising their ability to take advantage of change. This will help JMS to further refine its business processes and improve its ability to keep pace with its fast-evolving landscape.”
