VOOV, a new live streaming app launched in South Africa.
A new live streaming app has been launched in South Africa. The app allows users to the opportunity to discover, connect and interact with any other South African user’s live streams. According to the company, VOOV is packed with cool features, gifts, and filters which create a fun and engaging experience.
The app has already made waves among some top celebrities such as Thando Thabethe, Somizi Mhlongo, Pearl Thusi, Khanyi Mbau and DJ Zinhle who share unfiltered, intimate peeks into their daily lives as well as exclusive behind the scenes content on their live streams.
Social media is rapidly evolving beyond photo sharing and pre-recorded video consumption. Live streaming is the next big thing – a much richer and more engaging experience offering real time access to whoever is live on the application.
With the surge of user-generated content, VOOV says they have implemented safety measures to ensure a safe and uncompromised user experience. A twenty-four-seven local response team is always on standby for reports of harmful content. The team aims to make a safe environment for users to organically and authentically engage with each other.
“We are so excited to launch the first social live streaming app in South Africa. VOOV gives everyone an equal opportunity to keep in touch with local celebrities, engage with other users’ live streams, and create their own original content. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to discover fresh talent on the app every day. Our gifting feature allows viewers to reward their favourite stars for engaging with them. This makes for a tactile and unique interaction between the VJ and the viewer. A special moment indeed.” said Makhosazana Zwane-Siguqa, Head of VOOV South Africa.
VOOV is available to anyone (provided you are 14 years or older) – all you need is good internet connection and you’re ready to go. Whether you are using an iPhone or an Android device, you can upload your videos or start your own live stream anytime. The platform is here for you to showcase your talents to South Africa. Download the app on Google play or Apple iStore.
